Abstract

The tafrata plain is one of the most prominent pastoral areas that enjoyed a distinguished position in the steppes of eastern Morocco, as a historical incubator of an ancient pastoral society, which relied on traditional customs and methods in the mobility of pastoral nomadism, but in recent decades, this pastoral system has become the scene of many profound transformations, mainly associated with the decline of traditional grazing systems based on during the duality of cattle breeding and dry grain cultivation, despite the negative effects this has, it contributes to the creation of favorable conditions for desertification These dry environments, by uprooting the original vegetation cover that maintains the cohesion of the soil and reduces the impact of wind and water erosion, which these environments are usually the scene of
