Highlighting climate change in the Gharb plain, Morocco.
Keywords:
Evidence of climate change, Gharb plain, MoroccoAbstract
The present study proposes to examine the possible existence of climate change in the Gharb region in recent years. To do this, we collected climate data concerning rainfall and temperature in the following ORMVAG stations: SIDI ALLAL TAZI, MECHRAA BELKSIRI, MENASRA, ZIRARA. The statistical analysis of data covering a period of thirty years 1986-2016 shows with certainty the existence of an apparent climate change. This is characterized by a seasonal shift in rainfall and temperature and results in a negative impact on water resources and agriculture. The recurrent floods and droughts during the period 1986-2016 are the most significant impacts experienced by the area of our study
