Abstract

In Morocco, the model for representing medical interests is hybrid. It is characterized by the existence of an institutionalized representation embodied by the order of physicians (monopolistic organization with a corporatist vocation) and a fragmented medical representation (plurality of professional medical corporations). In fact, the objective of our article is to study the causes of the instability of the medical profession through the pluralistic approach of interest groups, while relying on two etiologies of internal divisions. On the one hand, the phenomenon of specialization, as a mechanism generating identity crises between general practitioners and medical specialists, and on the other hand, the system of medical studies, as a process, favoring the segmentation between liberal doctors and public sector doctors
