Illegal migration, Concepts, Causes, Effects - YouthAbstract
The phenomenon of illegal migration that has emerged since the late 1990s has begun to pose a serious threat to the various states that host these migrant groups. Therefore, due to the increasing frequency of this phenomenon in African countries, Tunisia, which has become a transit zone for these illegal immigrants, has reached a peak in coastal areas on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. This crisis has evolved from the category of migrants able to work on the migration of women and children, further aggravating suffering through arrest, imprisonment or death. Through this study, we will first try to identify the main drivers of illegal migration of this group of young people, despite a tight control of maritime borders. Second, the study highlights the most important aspirations of these migrants and the many dilemmas of this phenomenon, that have sparked wide debate among States and stressed the need to establish international policies on them that guarantee the interests of States, protect human rights and fundamental freedoms and preserve their dignity and humanity
