On Youth Reluctance to participate in political life in Tunisia :Contexts, causes and effects

This article is a research about the reluctance of Tunisian youth in participating in public political life, it also attempts to identify the reasons behind the decline of this participation and its political and social effects. The democratic transition in Tunisia gave the floor to ample areas of political freedom which enabled young people to be more engaged in political parties and civil society organizations, which contributed to creating a great political dynamic. However, the failure of the political elites to manage this democratic transition and their inability to achieve economic and social gains that can root youth participation and reduce the real possibilities for the presence of young people as social actors contributing to the management of public affairs. This leads to the growing and deepening of thepolitical estrangement among the elites and youg people with public affairs, which contributed to the delay in achieving social recognition as an essentiel demand for young protests
