Social Theory between Abdurahman Ibn Khaldoun and Karl Marx

Abstract

This study aims to compare between Abdurahman Ibn Khaldoun and Karl Marx in the light of their contributions on social theory, through three comparable levels; the first one concerns the role of social theory, and the second level about the subject of social theory, and the last one is related to an epistemological-conceptual level determined in the concept of History. This theoretical comparative study concluded by re-asking the fundamental question of producing a scientific knowledge about societies out of western ethnocentric paradigm
