Abstract

Study the impact of the size and productivity in the production of pulses in the Sudan during the period (2008-2015) Summary: The Sudan Qatar vast and rich natural resources; agriculture, animal, plant, and mineral resources, and water. The President of the population rely on agriculture where represents %80 of the activity of the population. Until the second half of 2008, about 84 million hectares of arable land, the exploitation of 18 million hectares, according to estimates of the Arab Union for Food Industries, the Sudan, around %46 of the total arable land area of almost 471 million3 | acres. Bean production sector had facing many problems in Sudan, represented in the small cultivated areas and weak production, compared to the Arab States, the lack of production inputs, high prices, and therefore could not farms from their use as required, the impact on production and productivity It has been fairly these effects through the following questions: Is there an increase in area, production and productivity of pulses in the Sudan? The study has followed the descriptive approach to identify the cultivated area, production and productivity of pulses in the Sudan, as well as curriculum development, historic follow-up to the survey sampled 1,306 adults with increase in size, production and productivity and pulses crops. statistical approach to analyze data: the results of study are most important, that the size of the pulses in the Sudan for the period (2008 -2012), amounting to an average of 153.64 hectares, rose in 2013 by 75%, then rose in 2014 grew by 44.72%, it is noticeable that there is an increase in the production of pulses, the180.78 thousand tons/ha for the same period, in 2013, then increase by %9 in 2014, then increase by %8, and then maintained the same level of 2015. The study recommended the need to support and develop the production of pulses in Sudan to play a role in the national economy, economic and agricultural policies encouraging investment and stimulating the product and encourage. research and development, and the introduction of the cultivation of pulses in the agricultural cycle, major state projects, for more product.
