Abstract

The current study aims to know the role of NGOs in promoting the development dimension and combating illiteracy in the Arab countries by identifying the following points: (The concept of NGOs, their divisions and their emergence factors, the importance of NGOs, the characteristics of NGOs, the meaning of the development dimension, its patterns and goals, trends The modern intellectual dimension of the development dimension, indicators of the development dimension, its problems in the Arab countries, the meaning of illiteracy and its causes, types, manifestations of illiteracy and the means of eliminating it, the role of NGOs in achieving and strengthening the development dimension, the role of NGOs in Combating illiteracy in the Arab countries), and the current study relied on the descriptive approach, and reached several results, including: that the economic organization of any country consists of three main areas, namely the public sector represented by the government and its subsidiaries, and the private sector represented in companies and businesses, and the third sector which is The private sector represented by non-governmental and non-profit organizations. The development dimension is: "Meeting the needs of society at the present time by making optimal use of available resources without wasting the right of future generations to benefit from these resources, including the main aspects of development, which are economic, environmental, cultural, political and social."
