The role of Capdel program in activating civil society contribution in local environmental planning in Algeria

This study aims to analyze the contribution of Capdel program as a model to reinforce civil society organizations participation in local environmental planning in Algeria, according to the tools which Capdel program provides cross the multi-sectoral management of environmental risks, by strengthening the role of civil society in accompanying local authorities in the implementation of local systems for prevention and manage risks and disasters. The study concludes that that strengthening the role of civil society organizations in local environmental planning in Algeria requires local environmental management governance, and mobilizing the various local actors concerned, through the strengthening of participatory democracy. In addition, Capdel can be used as a reference to strengthen the contribution of civil society organizations to local environmental planning
