Social Control Means Role in Promoting Knowledge Seeking Values Among Female Students at King Saud University in Riyadh

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the role of social control means (control by customs and traditions, norms, regulations and laws, and media) in promoting positive values in seeking knowledge among King Saud University (KSU) female students. It detected statistical differences at 0.05 between the sample average scores, in accordance with two given variables specialization and educational level. Descriptive analytical method is the adopted method. It relied on a simple random sample. The study findings revealed that all forms of the targeted social control have an impact on promoting positive values, where the effect ranges differ from “agree” to “partially agree”. It showed that there are no statistically significant differences between the average responses among the study sample on the total survey grade of the role of social control means and its sub-dimensions, which is represented in accordance with specialization and educational level
