Abstract

This paper attempts to highlight one of the most significant paradigm in sociology: Action paradigm. This paradigm can be considered as a broad field covering both sociology, economics, politics and organizations. The raisons that make this paradigm central in sociology are its epistemological clarity and applied effectiveness. According to this, I focus on a clear starting question: what are the major postulates which have been adopted to construct the principles of Action paradigm at the sociological level. To answer that question, I will put to the discussion a set of elements. First, the different intellectual backgrounds supply the theory of social action. Then, defining the postulates and principles of the same paradigm. Finally, explain the attempts to bridge the opposition between individualist and holistic approaches
