Sociologie of the tribe, a reading in the uses of the concept

The tribe is a flexible concept that is subject to multiple sociological uses. It is a socio-political organization, and a total phenomenon, on the one hand, and an abstract spot that contains the transformations of reality with its multiple expressions on the other hand. The tribe can be considered as a social construction that accompanies the transformations of society in some Arab countries through multiple and successive historical stages. That’s why its symbolic significance has remained intact, despite the disappearance of the material circumstances of its emergence
