This study investigates the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on cultural identity and social upbringing among Algerian youth, utilizing two rigorously validated scales directed at both youth and their parents. The scale administered to youth measured the frequency and extent of AI usage and its effects on cultural identity, while the scale for parents assessed AI’s impact on social upbringing. Results indicate that AI explains 79% of the variance in cultural identity, demonstrating a strong positive and statistically significant effect. Moreover, a significant correlation was identified between AI use and its perceived influence on social upbringing from the parental perspective. The analysis revealed no statistically significant differences in AI’s impact relative to the age of youth or educational level of parents, suggesting a broadly pervasive and homogeneous effect across demographics. The findings underscore the imperative for further empirical research on the potential of AI applications to reinforce cultural identity within the context of ongoing digital transformation
