The purpose of this article is to illustrate the various contemporary theories and models that sought to explain the phenomenon of drug abuse by individuals. This phenomenon has often attracted the attention of intellectuals and reformers, in addition to the various international organizations interested in the phenomenon, the fact that the latter has become disturbingly spread among the various groups of society. Therefore, all of these people sought to eliminate the ambiguity that covers the behavior of drug abuse, The purpose is to provide assistance to addicts at the same time and by giving them an explanation of the phenomenon of drug abuse that they have been able to prevent falling into non-abusers by avoiding their causes
