Abstract

Rawls sets out to take up the challenge of liberal democracy by proposing the different principles of distributive justice proposed in classical and modern philosophy; to choose the correct principles for such an advance, as appeal to tradition to maintain basic principles that are frequently unjust (slavery, oppression).
