The role of preachers in raising awareness of the dangers of drug abuse from the point of view of university students and ways to activate it

Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the degree of appreciation of university students in Gaza governorates for the role of preachers in raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse. To achieve this, the researchers followed the analytical descriptive method by applying a questionnaire consisting of (34) paragraphs on a sample of (405) from the University of (Al-Azhar, Islamic, Palestine) in the Gaza Governorates, and a registrar for the summer semester 2017/2018. The results showed that the overall degree of appreciation for the role of preachers in raising awareness of the dangers of drug abuse was relatively high (80.34%). Where the field of (promotion of health and social awareness) ranked first and the field (promotion of religious and moral awareness) in second place, there were no statistically significant differences at the level of importance of (α≤0.05) between the average sample scores for the roles of preachers in increasing awareness of the risks of drug use due to sex variable. But there were differences attributed to the variable college in favor of (scientific colleges) The study recommended that training courses should be held for advocates on the mechanisms of employing social networking sites in raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.
