Social Bond and the Emergence of Society From Greek Philosophy to the Social Contract Philosophers

This article aims to analyze the philosophical approach to the problem of social bond. It does not aim to criticize or bypass the approach or draw inspiration from it. Rather, the goal is to discuss and trace its logic within the philosophical context. Social and political philosophy addressed questions related to human society and its foundations before the emergence of sociology that emerged from the problem of social bond and solidarity with the rise of industrial society and deepening social inequality. This was done either through contemplation of the relationship between the "individual" and the social whole, the city, and the State, or through thinking about the relationships between authority and the process of transition from "natural society" to "political society."
