Abstract

This study dealt with the structure of the traditional poem in modern Sudanese poetry, taking Muhammad Saeed Al-Absi as a model; Ashe one of its pillars and its most famous pioneer. The study aimed to identify the term of traditional poetry and its features, to know its pioneers in Sudan and to define the term poem structureand its most important manifestations in the poetry of Muhammad Saeed al-Absi.The study followed the descriptive analytical method. The study reached several results: The imitated poets followed in the footsteps of traditional poetry with its inherited characteristics in terms of building the poem and composing its elements.Al-Abbasi excelled in the opening verse, his good summarize, and the epilogue of most of his poems.Al-Abbasid paired his images between traditional and sentimental, while retaining resentment and sobriety in all his poetic works.The study recommends returning frequently to Abbasid poetry to decipher its poetics and uncover the depths of its creativity
