This study examines the historical project of Professor Khalaf Abdel-Azim Al-Miri, one of the most prominent contemporary Egyptian historians. The research focuses on analyzing Al-Miri’s methodology in studying Egyptian and Arab history through a review of his diverse works, which include modern European history, Egyptian political history, and Egypt’s relations with Africa and the Gulf. The study highlights three main pillars of Al-Miri’s project: a deep reliance on historical documents, linking domestic events with the international context, and rereading history as a dynamic network of interactions between the state, society, economy, and culture. Additionally, it emphasizes Al-Miri’s ability to combine rigorous academic analysis with a practical understanding of political and social realities, making his work a key reference for understanding the present and anticipating the future
