Abstract

The purpose of this study is to figure out the most important graffiti contents in the university space, and the extent to which they express the student culture within the university. For this, we relied on interview and questionnaire techniques, with 122 students, who were randomly selected from within The Faculty of Letters and Humanities at Abdelmalek Essaadi University. We also monitored the graffiti practices in the university space for three consecutive months, documented them based on photography, and extracted their contents, which included: Political and Struggle Topics, Intimacy and sexuality, Sports, Violent…etc. Placed on: tables, doors, walls... etc. And in various places: Rooms, amphitheaters, public and marginal corridors, and toilets…etc. Student graffiti embodies the various ideologies spread within the university space, which express, either explicitly or implicitly, the concerns of this class on the one hand, and its aspirations on the other. It also represents the ideal outlet for this category to publish a number of discourses (whether they are taboos in society or others) that it is unable to disclose publicly
