Abstract

Learning a foreign language for communicative purposes is an approach that focuses on the ability to communicate effectively in a foreign language. Rather than focusing solely on grammar and vocabulary, this method emphasizes the acquisition of the practical language skills needed to interact with native speakers of that language. This approach puts the importance on practicing the language in real-life contexts, focusing on the adoption of oral, written and intercultural communication skills. This approach encourages learners to develop their language skills, with the value on understanding and producing coherent discourse. Learning a foreign language for communicative purposes can be enhanced by the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), which offer a wide range of tools and resources that can facilitate and enrich the foreign language learning experience
