Abstract

This study attempts to shed light on the subject of popular joke as a popular expression form, and the social implications it evokes that goes beyond the surface of enjoyment and solidarity, because it carries a critical stance rejecting its subject. It is a text that destroys the content of its form to turn to the text of joke on the recipient into a critical speech from its comic character, to a human effort to become intellectually aware of social value, or to negate it, and to raise man and his behavioral level. Therefore, In this study, we tried to show how popular joke is generated by social values in order to correct and reform them by either keeping them or eliminating them, this is because the presence of social values as a subject and the multiplicity of them in these popular expressions makes the definition of the level of social individuals and consciousness in the multidisciplinary society so that they cannot be limited or identified in a specific aspect or phenomenon. In the community and its emergence as a value in the popular joke, the most prominent of these entries, through which the student can learn and understand the structure of society, its system, and awareness of the level of civilization
