The study aims to highlight the different socio-demographic transformations that have characterized the Algerian family structure as well as its functions. In this study, we highlight the transition that characterized the Algerian family by highlighting the social and economic variables that led to the transition from a model of extended family to a nuclear family. The aim is to determine the factors of turnout and reluctance to marry relatives through an analytical study of the various population censuses and national surveys established in Algeria in addition to the field study completed in the Wilaya of Tlemcen, the results have been that despite the effects of social change on the model of marriage, the marry relatives stay favored as a traditional culture within Algerian society and a source of origin, blood and belonging pride
