Abstract

Sex work is seldom a chosen profession for women and is often described as a last resort. Our study on paid sexual work was conducted through interviews. We chose Marina site as a case study. Through the analysis of our results, the main reasons that led them to the paid sex work are poverty, divorce, family dispersion, unemployment, as well as poor educational level for them. In contrast, we find that sexual work provides a set of jobs for Moroccansociety and turns it into a tool that enables changing the class affiliation of individual and society
