Tourism crimes its types and spread in the Saudi society: A field study on a sample of tourism field workers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

This study aimed to identify the tourism crimes that occur in the Saudi society, in addition, it aims to identify the types of tourism crimes that occur in the Saudi society and how spread it is. The study population consist of those working in the field of tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in each of the following cities: (Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, Dammam, Abha and Tabuk). The study sample included three hundred sixty-three (363) individuals working in the field of tourism as the researcher used the sample social survey method, and questionnaires were used as tools for the study. The study reached many results, the most important of which are as follows: Among the most types of tourism crimes is some tourists pollute the environment of the tourist area with waste, the study sample believe that the rate of recurrence of tourism crimes in tourist areas is (little) in general, and that the most prevalent tourism crimes, are (crimes of assault or harassment). The study made several recommendations, the most important of which are: the need to provide educational and guidance programs targeting members of the society in order to urge them to preserve the environment and tourism areas and facilities from pollution and sabotage, and to educate citizens and members of society of the importance of tourism as an important economic resource for the individual and society
