The Andalusian influence on the dress of Tetouanese women

Abstract

The aim of this study is to shed light on the traditional dress of the women of Tetouan, in terms of the crafts involved in its production and the clear Andalusian influence on the various types of dress worn by women in Tetouan. It also aims to describe this type of dress and its methods of wearing, as it is a distinctive heritage on the national and international levels that Tetouan city is known for, especially in light of recent developments that have affected it. The study also provides a clear picture of the various styles of women's clothing in the city and the periods in which they were worn, as well as the numerous crafts and industries involved in its production. The analytical and descriptive method was used to analyze all historical texts that were relied upon during the research period, with the assistance of a historical approach aimed at clarifying the development that the dress of Tetouan women has undergone during contemporary times
