This study aims to examine the presence of the theory of domination, as developed by Max Weber, in the perspective of Pierre Bordieu through the notion of symbolic violence. The main problem is: How is symbolic violence a tool for the reproduction and perpetuation of domination? The response to this problem will go through the analysis of the concept of symbolic violence, its relationship with other notions such as social representations and symbolic capital, and finally the discussion of the added value of Bordieu's thesis to the sociology of domination
