Academic freedom: between guarantees and obstacles field study from the point of view of university professors

Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the (Constraints academic freedom, proposed mechanisms to activate them, their risks if they exist, guarantees, assess the current situation) from the perspective of professors of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Ouargla / Algeria, at the University of using descriptive exploratory curriculum and after the sample in response to the nine open questions frequencies and percentages indicated that: -The majority of respondents believe that the biggest obstacles to academic freedom is the cultural and educational obstacles. -The majority of respondents felt that academic freedom can be activated mainly through the promotion of scientific research. -The majority of respondents believe that the biggest risk of academic freedom is determined to bypass customs and laws in force. -The majority of respondents believe that there are no guarantees of academic freedom. -The majority of respondents believe that the status quo of academic freedom contrary to their expectations
