The Effectiveness of a Syntactic Cohesion Based Program inon Developing Written Expression Skills of Non-native Arabic Speakers Students

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a syntactic cohesion Based Program in improving writing composition skills of 25 Non- Arabic language Speakers students at the Center for Teaching Arabic language to Non- Arabic Speakers students, Faculty of Education, Mansoura University. Tools of the study included a checklist of writing composition skills plus a pre- and post test. Validity and reliability of those tools were checked. Also, a proposed program was conducted. Major results indicated a significant difference level at(0.05) in the treatment group mean scores in favour of the post application. This could be attributed to the proposed syntactic cohesion based program. Therefore, it can be concluded that the above mentioned proposed program was effective in improving the functional writing composition skills
