Abstract

The research aimed to identify transnational social movements in opposition to the phenomenon of globalization. The social movements against capitalist globalization did not stop, since the inception of the capitalist system, and the international communist movement was one of the first movements that supported the struggle against capitalist imperialism. It was followed by a group of transnational social movements against capitalist globalization and neo-liberalism. For example, we find the World Social Forum, the International Greenpeace Organization, environmental networks and other transnational social movements. Although there is no single government ruling the world, transnational social movements intervene directly in international conferences seeking to influence the language of particular treaties and help implement multilateral agreements. However, much larger numbers of transnational social movement elements are working to educate local actors, organizations and individuals, about global problems and the political apparatus designed to address them. For example, the Earth Movement is a transnational social movement dedicated to integrating its sub-organizations into multilateral political processes by informing them of issues for discussion and proposing tactics that encourage local mobilization in favor of global causes
