Cultural heritage in the rural area of El-jadida province (Morocco): qualifications and possibilities for tourism investment

Decentralization policy and field elaboration have known great changes in the last decades in Morocco which have led to new sustainable and experimental approaches. However, the participation of cultural resources in the local development is still not sufficient, at the same time it is considered as a pillar of touristic development across the world. Although the kingdom has taken a strategic decision since 2020 to develop tourism through focusing on cultural characteristics to develop new touristic destinations, the real interest on our culture is till at its early stages. As it’s noticed, when we talk about protecting and valuating our cultural heritage, the focus is on marital heritage chiefly in urban areas even though rural areas have a rich heritage too. Yet, fragility and globalisation are the main factors. Eljadida surroundings, which have a rich varied cultural heritage, are great instances of geographical area that lack protection, valuation, and a global strategy to reach a local development project
