An Essay on sociology of memory, The life Story of Haj Hassan Ben Ayed Zarii as a model
Keywords:
collective memory, official memory, forgetting, oral history, life storyAbstract
From the testimony of activist Haj Hassen Ben Ayed Zarai (1935-2020), the ambition of these papers is to examine how society and social actors reacted to this testimony and how our witness behaved to impose his will to position themselves in the official memory landscape after decades of rejection and blackout. Despite the fact that the collective memory paradigm started exclusively in sociology, we were able to go beyond this unidimensional vision to arrive at a transdisciplinary vision that crosses the barriers between disciplines and unifies sociology with philosophy and history and the science of discourse analysis. We use the "life story" as a technical instrument that open the door to social life in their relationships, the conflicts that arise and the changes that happen
