Ibn Taymiyya`s theory of knowledge

This study is a discussion of Ibn Taymiyya`s theory of knowledge. Ibn Taymiyya based his theory of knowledge on his ontological and psychological views. The main themes of this study are: The nature of knowledge, its sources, its limits, whether is it possible or not it is and the criterion of truth. The study discusses, according to Ibn Taymiyya, the role of sense and mind in knowledge. The study tackles also whether Ibn Taymiyya believed in innate ideas and whether knowledge according to his views subjective or objective or not. It became obvious to the Author that Ibn Taymiyya's theory of knowledge is quite linked to his ontology; thus, the study concluded with a set of results
