Social Protection Concept Socio-Historical Approach

This work highlights the social protection concept based on socio-historical approach to investigate its extensions and development through time, it will concern the transformations that societies have known, especially in the 19th and 20th centuries within the welfare state framework; It opened the way for sociologists to penetrate the concept’s interstice from a different point of view from economic and development studies that were dominating in the social sciences. This approach is conducted by field studies in order to understand the new forms of social solidarity, social security institution, and social assistance programs. As well as its role to fight poverty, vulnerability and their impact on communities and individuals. Hence, sets the foundation for building a theoretical model that unites this process in sociology of social protection in the future
