Abstract

The aim of the research is to know the right of women to inheritance in ancient societies (Roman, Greek, Pharaonic, Babylonian, and Pre-Islamic). The following approaches were employed: descriptive, analytical, historical, and comparative. The research concluded that depriving women of inheritance is a known phenomenon in all ancient societies, as if it was agreed upon, then things changed gradually, and within very narrow limits in favor of women, and they were granted some of the inheritance, as Babylonian society is the most advanced ancient societies in giving women their right Inheritance
